WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca Rotary Club held a free learning-related vision screening at the Winnemucca Grammar School on Saturday, Dec. 3.
Humboldt County elementary-school students were invited to attend. A total of 37 students were screened for problems relating to their distance and near sharpness of vision, depth perception, color vision, visual-motor integration, focusing flexibility, visual tracking and eye alignment. Parents also had the opportunity to consult attending Optometrist Dr. Cody Bengoa.
The Rotary Club will hold similar events this spring at Grass Valley and Sonoma Heights elementary schools.
Local Rotarians that served at the event included Lynda Sugusa, Jill Thomason, John Siegfried, Victoria Dupuis, Bob Shaw, Mike Bumgartner, Barbara Sealy, Erin Glavin-Entwistle and Cody Bengoa. Additional volunteers were Cristal Hepburn and Debby Wiltsie.
