A native of Reno he served as a police officer for the city of Sparks and then for the Washoe County Sheriff's Department. Upon retirement moved to Winnemucca. He is survived by his wife, Frances, his sister, Sandra Funkhouser of Boise Idaho, and children and grandchildren.
