Lowry High School senior Monique Rodriguez was named to the Division I-A North girls soccer first team at forward and was also named to the Division I-A all-state second team. She was the only Buckaroo named to the all-state team.

Monique scored a team-high 15 goals, in helping the Lady Bucks reach the regional playoffs as the No. 4 seed. The all-league and all-state teams are selected by the league's coaches.

South Tahoe's Jordyn Dion was named the Player of the Year and Sparks' Arturo Hurtado was chosen as the Coach of the Year.

Dion was named to the first team, along with teammates Ally King, Ashlee Schouten and Jensen Smith. Also on the first team were Truckee's Marcelle Reynaud, Emma Warren, Lynde Tucker and Shannon Cardoza, Sparks' Angelica Hurtado, Spring Creek's Haley Isaaman and Elko's Hailee Simpson.

Lowry junior Caitlynn Cooper was named to the Division I-A North second team as a defender. That group of players included, Truckee's Daisy Rivera and Sarah Svoboda, Churchill County's Jordin Warner, Elko's Brook Pawelek and Nadia Villegas, South Tahoe's Kendall Egan, Sparks' Senifa Po' oi and Spring Creek's Jasmin Giere, Kaitlyn McLeod, Aliyah Tsosie and Baylee Burns.

Lowry had eight players chosen to the honorable mention team including Lindsay Pate, Maddie Mayo, Jasmine Marchand, Iridiana Gonzalez, Audrey Snow, Alyssa Campbell, Alyssa Jones and Kenadee Jeppsen.

The honorable mention team was rounded out by Truckee's Lizzie Larkins and Tessa Manahan, South Tahoe's Annie Brejc and Alicia Rea, Spring Creek's Mykayla Wooden, Linsey Bessert and Heather Craig, Elko's Luz Rodriguez and Mirage Coley, Fernley's Brooke Chapin, Dayton's Kristina Mason and Karla Montano, Sparks' Marisela Castorena, Daniela Casillas, Mariela Avalos, Marlyn Arce and Paola Corral and Churchill County's Savannah Sweeney, Macy Myers, Mayzie Jones and Megan Warner.

Northern players on the first-team, all-state squad included Dion, Kings, Tucker, Simpson and Cardoza.

Joining Rodriguez on the second team, were Warren, Hurtado, Isman, Reynaud, Schouten and Smith.[[In-content Ad]]
