Robin Daniel Knight passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 10, 2014, after developing complications from the treatment of stomach cancer. 

Dan Knight was the son of Robert Don Knight and Elfrieda Ruth Siebach. He was born on Dec. 15, 1953,in Burley, Idaho. He graduated from Burley High School and received a scholarship to play football at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. 

Dan went on to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tempe, Ariz. After returning from his mission, Dan settled in Nevada, where he has been a resident of Lovelock for the last 35 years. 

While there, he met and married Julie Brinkerhoff, and together they had four children: David (and Sherry) Knight also of Lovelock, Nev., Robyn Danielle (and Justin) Harrison of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Emily Knight of Lovelock, Nev.; and Polly Dawn Knight, a student at BYU Provo. He loved his children and doted on his grandchildren.

Dan, like his father, enjoyed farming and purchased a ranch a little southwest of Lovelock. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served as a bishop for the LDS Lovelock Ward for nearly eight years. Dan had a hardworking and generous nature that was extended to family and members of the community. He is well loved by all those whose lives he touched. 

He is survived by his wife, their children, and grandchildren as well as his brothers David (and Ellen) Knight of Lovelock, Nev.; John (and Cynthia) Knight of Imlay, Nev.; Aaron (and Kay) Knight of Spring Creek, Nev.; Nathan (and Peggy) Knight of Galt, Calif.; and Adam (and Jackie) Knight of Lovelock, Nev.; and his sisters Nora (and Randy) Golay of Burley, Idaho; Katy (and Dave) Burch of Oakley, Idaho; Bonnie (and Mark) Nelson of Centerville, Utah; and Sally Knight of Battle Mountain, Nevada. 

Dan was preceded in death by both of his parents and one younger brother, Timothy E. Knight of Battle Mountain, Nev. The funeral will held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 at the Lovelock LDS Ward meeting house with Bishop Mark Hostman officiating.[[In-content Ad]]
