Roberta Newlin West was born in Reno on Oct. 30, 1933, and passed away with her family by her side after a very short illness on June 25, 2012. She attended schools in the Reno area and graduated from the Old Reno High School in 1951. Bobbi's happiest years were spent caring for her four children and husband of 59 years. She was an incredibly dedicated and loving wife and mother.
Bobbi lived in San Francisco, West Wendover, Ely, Elko and Winnemucca during her life journey following her husband's education and careers. Bobbi was a Girl Scout leader and an active member of the school PTO while her children were young. She loved to cook, knit (especially doll clothes), bird watching and rose gardening.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her mother Faith Newlin and her brother Dale Newlin. She is survived by her husband Don, Sons Mark (Maryann), Stephen and Daniel (Jodi), daughter Joni Justus (Steve), numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A private family service was held on June 26th. No funeral will be held per Bobbi's request and she will be interred at the Mountain View Cemetery in Reno with her mother and brother.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Bobbi's name to the American Red Cross.
