Robert K. Scott

Robert K. Scott passed away Sunday Oct. 19, 2014, at his home in Winnemucca with his loving wife Judy and children by his side.

Robert was born Oct. 16, 1937, in Rugby N.D., to Claude and Vivian Scott. He was baptized into the Christian faith on July 6, 1944, in Rugby N.D. He graduated from Minot High School in 1955.

His early years were spent working with his dad in the family business of Scott's Heating. He also was employed at the Veterans hospital in Minot, N.D.

Robert married his soul mate and the love of his life on April 22, 1956, at Christ Lutheran Church in Minot. They had three children - Ramona, Allen and Teri. They were blessed with 58 years of a wonderful life with their children and grandchildren and many great grandchildren. They moved to southern California with the family in 1961 then Robert went to work for General Motors and received a certificate of recognition for 20 years of loyal and dedicated services from General Motors. He also worked for Anaheim Manufacturing for 14 years as plant supervisor.

Robert was a wonderful husband and father. He enjoyed the wonderful beaches in California where the children and family could gather. Robert was an avid bowler and played in many leagues. He also played golf and was in many tournaments and would bring the score card home with a big smile.

They moved from Anaheim, Calif., to Aguanga, Calif. They bought some acreage and made this into a small ranch for horses, chickens, etc. Grandchildren loved to come and loved the activities.

Robert and Judy both retired living in Aguanga. During that time they traveled to many states in the U.S. and came home with many warm memories. Bob, as he was called, also surprised Judy with a birthday present to Hawaii. In 2004 they moved to Winnemucca.

In June of 2005 they became members of the Zion Lutheran Church in Winnemucca. They found a wonderful church family, with Pastor Mark Kliewer bringing them into membership and fellowship.

Robert's children: Ramona Kay Williams, Allen Robert Scott and Teri Lynn Scott Talley; grandchildren: Larry, Aryn and Michael Valverde, Laticia Barron, Victor Hernandez, Jeffery and Katrina Scott; great grand children: Myles, Madalynn, Michael J. and Jayden Valverde, Trevor and Paisley Scott; brother: Steven Scott; and sisters: Shirley Scott and Sandra Scott; and other family members: Duane Walland, brother-in-law, Shawn Talley and James Williams, son-in-law.

Robert was preceded in death by parents Claude and Vivian Scott and his brothers James, Gerald, Donald and Micheal Scott.

A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at 3205 N. Highland Dr., Winnemucca. Memorials Zion Lutheran Church, Winnemucca, Nev., Prayer Garden.

The Scott family thanks Zion Lutheran Church and members for the prayers, their love and visitations, many wonderful meals. We also thank the Humboldt Volunteer Hospice, Sherry Smith and Cindy Michael for all their help. The nurses at Genesis for the care and compassion provided to Robert and family during Roberts final days.
