Robert "Bob" Duane Cole of Winnemucca, passed away on May 31, 2014 at the age of 71. At the time, he was hospitalized at the Pikes Peak Hospice at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he was under the care of the doctors at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center.
Bob was born Jan. 25, 1943 in Presho, S.D. to the late Herb Cole and to Helen Cole of Presho. He was the second of four children. Bob was a member of Presho High School's Class of 1960 and in the years since earned his license as a journeyman electrician. He worked as both a handyman and as a maintenance worker in the casinos of Winnemucca.
Bob's favorite hobby was square dancing and square dance calling, during which he showcased his wonderful singing voice.
Because Bob died far from his home in Nevada, it has been decided that he is to be cremated and returned to his home in the company of his wife and son. At a later date, there will be a memorial where part of Bob's ashes will be scattered in Nevada. After that, the other part of his ashes will be taken to South Dakota and scattered there, just so he can haunt all parts of his family.
Bob was predeceased by his father, Herb and a younger brother, Merle.
