Reserve police officer program on council's meeting agenda

WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca City Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday beginning at 2 p.m. at City Hall, 90 W. Fourth St.

The correction and possible approval of the Sept. 19 joint city/Humboldt County commission and Sept. 20 regular city meeting minutes follows the call to order and Pledge of Allegiance.

Following the review and possible approval of warrants, the council will issue a proclamation declaring October 2011 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Public and personal communication and correspondence follows.

Agenda items include variance VW-11-13. This would reduce a front-yard setback from 20 feet to 19 feet/R-1-9 (Single Family Residential-9,000 sf minimum lot size)/617 Ross St./APN 015-041-01. Also scheduled is waiver PW-11-16. This is a parcel map improvement standards waiver request for the northerly boundary of 5975 Kluncy Canyon Road/APN 016-341-37.

The council will also discuss an encroachment permit for relocation of an existing fence line at 1361 Harmony Road. That will be followed by bids and the possible bid award for a street intersection improvement project.

Three items from the Winnemucca Police Department are scheduled, including information on the reserve police officer program, motor vehicle replacement options and authorization to fill an additional budgeted patrol officer position.

An additional FAA grant award for the pavement maintenance project at Winnemucca Municipal Airport will also be discussed.
