Winnemucca Police Reserve Officer David Simsek was awarded a Distinguished Volunteer Service Cross by Chief Eric Silva at the city council meeting Tuesday for 20 years of exemplary law enforcement service to the Winnemucca Police Department. WPD awards the service cross for "outstanding volunteer service provided by Reserve members who improve the department and its services to the community."
