Dahnoun had done work for National Geographic, the Los Angeles Times and ESPN, among others. He was doing a piece on ranching for Nevada Magazine and came to photograph the 96 Ranch, a branding and each of the Stewart family members for a piece on the centennial families of Nevada ranching (those who have been on the same place for 100+ years). In the Stewarts' case, Fred's family has been on the ranch for 148 years and counting, since 1864.
Dahnoun also shot photos at the Ferraro Cattle Company.
Fred and Kris Stewart asked their friends to come out and help, including the John Bell and George Miller families. The Bell kids and Miller girls helped Patrice Stewart with all of the roping and did a fantastic job!
