Removing crosses from accident site was insensitive act

Editor:

I am writing to let everyone know what a messed up world we live in. Recently, both my son's cross and my friend's son's cross (along the I-80 corridor near Lovelock) have been cut down and taken away. They were placed there as a remembrance of loved ones who lost their lives on that stretch of highway. The crosses were placed in such a way as not to interfere with the roadway traffic or hinder the shoulder in any way.

We checked with NDOT, the Nevada Highway Patrol and the sheriff's department and were told by all agencies that it was not a procedure done by their agencies.

Apparently, someone with a grudge against crosses took this upon themselves to do this insensitive act. If anyone knows anything about the desecration and disappearance of the crosses, please come forward and shed some light on the subject. This was very disrespectful and hurtful to those who placed them there in memory of their loved ones. We will never understand how people can be so heartless and cruel. We will keep them and all like them in our prayers as they really need the help.
