Reece was born on June 8, 1988 in Martinez, Calif., to his parents, Clayton and Karen Thomas. He spent the early part of his life living in Cobb, Calif. before moving with his family to Winnemucca, Nev. He worked for Humboldt Construction and Les Schwab Tire Center here in Winnemucca.
Reece was a gun enthusiast who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father, brother, sister, cousins and friends. He also loved working on trucks with his dad. Reece felt at home in the hills and would often drive out there with friends to sit by the fire and listen to music. On Sept. 19, 2013, God called Reece home so that he could leave his struggles behind and be at peace. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Art Thomas.
He is survived by his parents Clayton and Karen Thomas, older sister Tiffany Wiley, younger sister Melanie Thomas, younger brother Cody Thomas, brother-in-law Josh Wiley and niece Kira Jane Wiley (all of Winnemucca). Grandparents Gary and Lita Lappin (of Sacramento, Calif.), surrogate grandparents Bob and Cathy Cramer (of Lake County, Calif.). Aunts and uncles Jennifer and Mark Wardell (of Winnemucca), Shannon Lappin and Chad Goetzinger (of Ukiah, Calif.), Justin and Cquerida Lappin (of Santa Rosa, Calif.), Sissy and Bob Little (of Fruita, Colo.). Cousins Brittany Kohlruss (of Reno), Dion Wardell (of Winnemucca), Kyle Wardell (of Winnemucca), Tammy Hood (of Steamboat Springs, Color.), Jerry Little (of Durango, Colo.), Marshall Goetzinger (of Ukiah, Calif.). And numerous other aunts, uncles cousins and friends in Nevada and California.
