WINNEMUCCA - The American Red Cross-Winnemucca Service Center will be honoring local heroes and citizens who have shown extraordinary courage and acts of kindness at the 2012 Real Heroes Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Winnemucca Convention Center-East Hall.
You can help the chapter identify those individuals, associations or companies who have gone above and beyond to help a friend, family member, community member or complete stranger during 2011/2012. Nomination forms can be picked up at the Winnemucca Service Center or downloaded from the chapter website at www.nevada.redcross.org.
Nominations will be accepted through Aug. 2 and are open to all residents from Humboldt, Lander and Pershing counties. A digital photograph of the nominee is greatly appreciated.
Corporations and local businesses are invited to support this uplifting event, which attracts community members from Humboldt, Lander and Pershing counties. Preferred sponsorships are available at this time.
All proceeds from the Real Heroes celebration will remain in the area to ensure your local Red Cross is able to provide emergency assistance to local families affected by disasters, provide assistance to members of the Armed Forces and their families and teach the community about emergency preparedness and life-saving skills.
