Raymond "Ray" Grover Thompson

Raymond "Ray" Grover Thompson of Battle Mountain, Nev. passed away April 16, 2014 at the age of 64 due to injuries sustained in a single car accident. He was born Nov. 10, 1949 in Wilcox, Ariz. to Paul and Billie Thompson.

He was working at Barrick Gold for Carlin Trend Minning Service at the time of his death. He grew up around Elko and graduated form Elko High School in 1967. He later moved to Battle Mountain where he lived for many years. For many years he trained 4-H kids in Olympic style air rifle shooting sports. He will be greatly missed.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jennifer Zeta Thompson.

Ray is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Thompson of Battle Mountain, Nev.; daughter Lena Thompson of Winnemucca, Nev. sister, Brenda Burdick, (J) of South Fork, Nev.; stepson Chris Hanks of Battle Mountain, Nev.; grandchildren Sequoyah and Chance Hanks of Winnemucca, Nev.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
