LOVELOCK - The Lahontan Audubon Society is sponsoring its annual Raptor Tour of the Lovelock Valley, Sunday, Jan. 27. Debbie and Randy Pontius, local birders, will be leading the tour. Participants will travel the valley by car pool, to visit local hotspots. They will be seeking out local hawks, eagles, falcons and owls, as well as any song birds they come across. The Nile Valley is well known throughout the state as a heavy over-wintering location for birds which breed high north areas. The tour is open and free to the public.
