Raoul Joseph Yott, 63, of Winnemucca, passed away on May 18, 2014, with his family by his side.
We say a very sad goodbye to a joyful man who will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Raoul loved the outdoors and led a full and adventurous life. He was an extremely loving and proud father of two sons, Sammy and Joey Yott, and a loving brother to his two sisters Laurie Yott and Anne Nielsen. He was born in Chehalis, Wash. on May 7, 1951, and grew up in San Diego County, Calif. His academic achievements included undergraduate college at University of California at Santa Barbara, and Law School at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, Calif., where he graduated with a JD degree. He last lived and worked for many years in Winnemucca, Nev., and passed away in Washoe Valley, Nev., following a battle with cancer. His many hobbies included surfing in his youth and golf and pool in his adult life. He was a generous and caring person, and has been described as the kind of man who would give the shirt off of his back to help a friend.
