ELKO - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will meet with the Northeastern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council (RAC) at 8 a.m., Thursday, May 15, at the Battle Mountain District Office, 50 Bastian Road, in Battle Mountain. A field tour of the Ormat's McGinness Hills geothermal power plant and surrounding area will begin at 8:45 a.m. The public and media are invited to attend.
The RAC advises and makes recommendations to the BLM on public land management. Discussion items will include, but are not limited to, sage-grouse mitigation, livestock grazing conditions and drought. The meetings are open to the public and provide the public an opportunity to ask questions of or make comments to the citizen-based council. A public comment period is scheduled at 8:30 a.m. Due to time constraints, comments will be limited to three minutes each.
