Public employees will meet Wednesday March 12

Representatives of the Retired Public Employees of Nevada will hold a meeting in Winnemucca on Wednesday, March 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the West Hall of the convention center. All area retired and working public employees who participate in the Nevada Public Employees' Retirement System are invited to attend.

Among the representatives of RPEN scheduled to attend the meeting is the organization's State President Glenn Trowbridge.

RPEN was formed in 1976 to provide educational information about the issues of interest to public employee retirees. The group has chapters in 18 Nevada communities including Winnemucca which is its Northern Tri-County Chapter that serves Humboldt, Pershing and Lander counties.

Local chapter officers are: Judy Thompson, president; Jane Ripley, vice president; Karen Rogers, secretary; Judy Quillici, treasurer and Carmen Goicoechea, state delegate.

Goicoechea says, "There are many important issues of interest to public employees to be discussed on the 12th. Information will be presented about the retirement system, state health insurance system and how they affect retirees."

Also participating in the meeting will be RPEN Executive Director Marty Bibb and Director of Membership Development and Chapter Service Terri Laird.

Admission is free and reservations are not required.
