ELKO - With continued interest of producers in Nevada to understanding property rights and defending those rights, Nevada Cattlemen's Association, Nevada Rangeland Resource Commission and followers of Dr. McIntosh's research are hosting a Property Rights Workshop Series featuring Dr. Angus McIntosh.
The first workshop was held in conjunction with Nevada Cattlemen's Association Annual Convention in Winnemucca in November. The remaining workshops will be held in Yerington, Elko and Ely beginning Dec. 15.
"As federal land ranchers struggle against a constant barrage of attacks on our livelihood, it is imperative to understand our rights. Dr. McIntosh's presentation is a must for western ranchers," says JJ Goicoechea, president of Nevada Cattlemen's Association.
Dr. McIntosh will begin each workshop by presenting the history of property rights followed by a discussion panel including Dr. McIntosh and his colleagues.
Dr. McIntosh's goal for the workshops is to work with each rancher to answer any questions they may have and aid ranchers in developing their personal records.
Dr. McIntosh has also asked Wayne Hage, Jr., and Ramona Morrison to join the workshop series. Hage will be giving an update on his case work and Morrison will be providing attendees with a brief presentation on how she studied and established property chain of title research for her family's ranch.
Workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the locations list. Lunch will be offsite and the workshop will reconvene after lunch.
- Saturday, Dec. 15 at Casino West in Yerington
- Monday, Dec. 17 at the Elko Convention Center in Elko
- Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Bristlecone Convention Center in Ely
"A large thank you to Nevada Rangeland Resources Commission for providing the grant to bring Dr. McIntosh to Nevada to help educate our producers. Dr. McIntosh's first seminar in Winnemucca was very well attended and we hope we can honor the grant and educate as many producers as possible at the remaining seminars," says Desiree Seal, executive director of Nevada Cattlemen's Association.
