WINNEMUCCA - Calling all educators, pre-service teachers, day care providers and community educators!
You're invited to attend February's Project WET workshop on Feb. 24 - 25. This free workshop (donation excepted) is presented by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection and Nevada Outdoor School. Participants will receive an activity guide that contains ready-to-use lessons, multi-media resources and valuable connections into a network of water education.
This workshop will be held at the Humboldt County School District training room from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday. Teachers seeking re-certification credits can also obtain 0.5 credits in this workshop.
Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) is an internationally known non-profit organization that provides water education for teachers, parents and community members. Not only does the activity guide have structured lessons, but each lesson has thorough background information, additional teacher resources and multimedia options that support the goals and objectives of the lesson. All lessons correlate to Nevada standards, S.T.E.M and the Common Core State Initiative and are also easily integrated into multiple subjects.
