The Power Paws 4-H Dog Club will offer a Canine Good Citizen Obedience and Rally class to the local public and their dogs beginning March 17 and running through April 28.
During this seven-week course, handlers and dogs will be taught what is needed to pass their CGC test. There will be a strong emphasis on good recall, better known as "coming when called." This is a positive training course and handlers should bring their dogs' favorite toys or treats to every class. All classes will be held on the Monday evenings at the Humboldt County Extension Office at 5:30 p.m. Class size is limited to 15 participants.
The registration fee is $35 for the seven week course and includes course materials. Participants will need to bring their own five- or six-foot leash and must provide proof that their dog is current on all vaccinations.
The CGC and rally class will be taught by 4-H Leader Judy Henigin. All proceeds go to the Power Paws 4-H Club.
If you are interested in registering for the class or would like more information, contact Judy Henigin at 625-2999 or the Humboldt County Cooperative Extension 4-H Office at 623-6304.[[In-content Ad]]
