WPD officers were advised by Humboldt County dispatch of an activated alarm inside the pro shop at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course at about 4:40 a.m.
The first officer arrived at the pro shop located at 1395 Mizpah within three minutes, according to a WPD news release. The building was cleared by officers and no suspects were found inside. The city's public works supervisor secured the building.
Officers returned to the clubhouse Tuesday morning to process the scene and gather evidence after employees arrived at work and noted some items in the pro shop were missing.
Missing items will not be identified at this time, due to a continuing investigation, WPD said.
