WINNEMUCCA - Martin Sampson, 26, was arrested Tuesday morning after a search warrant was executed on his house and stolen items, user amounts of marijuana and methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia were found, according to the Winnemucca Police Department.
A search warrant was obtained for Sampson's residence following an investigation that began Nov. 15 after a resident reported that her purse was stolen from her home the previous night. According to WPD, the victim reported that her credit card was used at a local casino to fraudulently obtain approximately $2,000.
WPD Detective Andy Rorex conducted the investigation and was able to identify three persons of interest and obtain a search warrant for 1520 E. Second St, #16, Sampson's residence.
According to a WPD news release, the warrant was executed Nov. 27 at approximately 7 a.m. by the WPD SWAT team and, during the search, items were found linking the subject to the original burglary complaint.
WPD detectives arrested Sampson on suspicion of burglary, attempted burglary, possession of stolen property and various narcotics violations.
Sampson is being held at the Humboldt County Jail with a bail of $81,454.
Marcline Schreiber was arrested along with Sampson for various narcotics violations and her bail was set at $7,081.
