WINNEMUCCA - "Make Christmas Special" is what lead Pogonip Fro-Yo employees to unselfishly give big this year. The crew at Pogonip collaborated for a few minutes during their first Christmas Party and decided they would adopt a local family for the holidays.
Working with school advisers, social workers and each other, a family was identified and adopted. The new task was putting everything together. "What should we do?" was the question. "What should we buy and how much are we to spend?" Good thing Santa's helpers were listing and "Ho-Ho-Ho" the questions were all answered.
Using their "tip" money, which they started saving since opening day, a budget was established and the shopping list started growing as the young employees felt that they needed to spend it all on their new family:
• A fully prepared Christmas Eve dinner to include all the trimmings, along with a gift card just to make sure there was plenty for any unexpected guests
• Gifts for all four children: warm outfits, toys, family oriented games and school supplies
• A little something special for Dad
