Humboldt County's Regional Planning Commission will meet Thursday, Nov.13 at 5:30 p.m. for a busy agenda.
The agenda begins with an opportunity for public comment; the public has the opportunity to address the planning commissioners on any subject not on the agenda.
The planning commissioners will consider the following items:
• Approval of a conditional use permit application for a home-based business at 4500 Davis Lane serving "farm to fork" meals to the public.
• Verizon Wireless is back with another application for a 100-foot monopole tower with antennas to be located off East Winnemucca Boulevard.
• Debbie Alexander has requested approval of a special use permit to allow daycare for four children in her home at 21 Arnold Avenue.
• Kathryn Lecumberry and AnnaRae Young have applied for a special use permit to allow for a home-based business for massage therapy one day a week at 5200 Weikel Drive.
• A conditional use permit application has been submitted by Brandon Crawford doing business as Bullhead Hunting Club to allow for an upland game bird hunting club on Grayson Ranch Road in Paradise Valley.
• A special use permit application has been submitted for a 32-unit apartment complex in the general commercial zoning district. The proposed project is located at 1100 Hanson Street between the Post Office and the Mountain View Apartments. A site plan review application will also be considered for that proposed apartment project.
• A site plan review application has been submitted for Phase 1 of a recreation facility to include a soccer complex, a 28,500 square foot building to house a recreation center, gym and Boys and Girls Club off Great Basin Avenue.
• The ordinance amending Winnemucca's Municipal Code to prohibit medical marijuana establishments in any zoning district in city or county is before the planning commission. The planning commission members sent ordinance revisions to both the city and county which would have allowed such establishments in specific zoning areas, but that ordinance was rejected by both the city council and county commission. The DA's office was directed to finalize the ordinance prohibiting such establishments in city or county, and the regulatory pathway for that ordinance takes it before the planning commissioners, who can choose to recommend passage or rejection. Their recommendation can be accepted or disregarded by city council and county commissioners.
Planning commission meetings are held in the upstairs meeting room at the courthouse. Another opportunity for public comment is allowed at the end of the meeting.
