Perry passed peacefully in his sleep Jan. 30, 2014, at his residence in Sun Valley at the age of 88. He was born on the Fort McDermitt Paiute/Shoshone Reservation on Jan. 26, 1926, to John Wasson and Ada Reed. Marrying Leona Abel, he made his home and raised his family in Fort McDermitt. Learning the trade of a Cement Mason he became a member of the Cement Masons & Plasters Local # 241 in Reno. He worked at various union jobs throughout the north state until his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his wife Leona, sisters Ivy Garfield and Virginia Garfield, and a number of half-siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca of Redding, Calif., and Neashea of Fallon, and sons John of Elko, and Wallace of Sun Valley; also five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing is scheduled 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., with a Service at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Final Wishes at the Mountain View Cemetery, 437 Stoker Ave., Reno, Nev.[[In-content Ad]]
