Sonoma Heights Elementary School conducted a penny drive from mid-November through Christmas break to benefit the Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City. The program is called "Pennies by the Inch." Primary Children's serves the largest geographic area in the continental U.S. and is among the top-ranked children's hospitals. No child is ever turned away regardless of the family's ability to pay. Sonoma's goal was to fill the little jug and work on filling the larger water jug full of pennies and other coins.
