Partial campground closure at Wild Horse State Rec Area due to construction

ELKO - Campground improvements at Wild Horse State Recreation Area began Monday, Oct. 7, and will continue through Nov. 17. In order to complete these improvements, partial closure of the campground will be necessary. The shower and dump station facilities will remain available, but campsites within the park will be limited.

A large scope of the work includes the creation of more pull through sites and shade structures at each site. There is still an abundance of camping available outside the state park. Nevada State Parks would like to thank all of its users for their patience through the construction process.

For more information call the park at (775) 385-5939 or the region office at (775) 867-3001.

The Nevada Division of State Parks plans, develops and maintains a system of parks and recreation areas for the use and enjoyment of more than 3.3 million visitors a year.

The division was established in 1963 by the Nevada Legislature to form a new state park agency within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The division manages and maintains 23 parks, historic sites and recreation areas in Nevada.[[In-content Ad]]
