Paradise Valley Elementary to be honored during school board meeting

WINNEMUCCA - The Humboldt County School District Board of School Trustees will hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the district office boardroom, 310 E. Fourth St.

The meeting begins with the call to order, special recognition for Paradise Valley Elementary's high achieving award and public comment.

The superintendent's report and possible approval of warrants follows.

The board will also get a presentation from French Ford Middle School Principal Robert Lindsay.

Agenda items include possible approval to cancel the Dec. 27 meeting, a proposal to televise school board meetings, a discussion regarding Malheur County's proposed tuition agreement and the status of the HCSD band and music programs.

The board will also hold a closed session to discuss certified and classified negotiations pursuant to NRS 288.220. That will be followed by possible ratification of the HCEA contract and HCSSO contract.

Also scheduled is the FY12 augmented budget, the introduction of a Nevada Growth Model for Accountability drafted by the State Department of Education, the superintendent evaluation and the school resource officer contract.
