The fairly significant snow Winnemucca received Friday night didn't dampen the enthusiasm for the annual Chamber of Commerce Parade of Lights, although it did complicate things. City crews rushed to plow Bridge Street in time for the parade on Saturday evening and some expected floats didn't make it due to the weather. Still, plenty of local businesses, groups, and organizations got creative with this year's "Snowmen on Parade" theme. Bundled-up spectators lined Bridge Street to take in the holiday spectacle, while others parked along the route and enjoyed the parade from inside a warm vehicle. The winner of the event received a $100 chamber check and second place earned a $50 chamber check. Judges picked Wedco as the first-place winner and Pogonip came in second place. Girls Scout Troop 550 was picked as an honorable mention. Photos by Mike Michaelsen.
