Orville 'Floyd' Lynch - Obituary

Orville "Floyd" Lynch was born on Dec. 12, 1936, the third of four children born to Orville and Linda Lynch. He grew up in Iowa and joined the Air Force before he was twenty. He was an air traffic controller while in the Air Force and later earned his pilot's license. He moved to Winnemucca after being honorably discharged from the Air Force and lived and worked here for over fifty years. He worked for the Southern Pacific railroad for ten years, and later for local gold mines as an ore-truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to fly.

He passed away from natural causes on March 21, 2012. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Delores Paulson of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. June Mulnix and Mrs. Betty Murley of Waterloo, Iowa. He also had twelve nieces and nephews, 25 great-nieces and nephews, and over two dozen great-great nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends who will miss him.

Memorial services will be held Friday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at the Winnemucca Municipal Airport, in Buster High's hangar.
