Rita Buhl Sherbondy
1945-2015
Rita Buhl Sherbondy, 69, passed away March 9, 2015, at home with her family by her side.
Rita was born in Winnemucca, Nev., to Albert and Louise Buhl. She attended school and lived in Battle Mountain, Nev., most of her life. She later married Philip Sherbondy and they retired to Winnemucca. Rita had earned an Associate of Arts degree and worked as a substitute teacher, volunteer EMT, construction worker, and casino worker.
Rita loved reading, mining and looking for turquoise. She discovered the Lander Blue Mine. Rita was passionate about all her children and grandchildren and loved every minute she spent with them.
She had one son Joel Sherbondy; three grandchildren: Dewayne (Kimberly) Sherbondy, Kristopher (Jennifer) Sherbondy and Sadeler (Lindsey) Sherbondy; and one great granddaughter Emma Sherbondy.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband Philip Sherbondy, a daughter Tessa Sherbondy, her sisters Anita and Marilynn and her brother Herb Buhl.
The family would like to thank Jeremy Hurst, FNP and the staff at Lincare for their care of Rita.
