NV Energy donates Snowcat and trailer to Lander County Search and Rescue

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - NV Energy donated a Snowcat and a trailer for hauling the vehicle to Lander County Search and Rescue.

Company representatives presented the Snowcat to the organization on Nov. 26 10 a.m. at NV Energy's Battle Mountain storage yard located 145 N. Humboldt St.

Alan Anderson, director of NV Energy's Valmy Power Station, presented the keys for the Snowcat to Donald Negro, who accepted the donation on behalf of Lander County Search and Rescue.

NV Energy periodically donates used but still useful equipment to nonprofit organizations throughout Nevada. The Snowcat that was donated to Lander County Search and Rescue was previously used for emergency utility operations in the Winnemucca-Battle Mountain area.

Utility personnel will also be providing Lander Country Search and Rescue with training on the safe operation of the vehicle.
