NV Energy awards 56 college scholarships totaling $59,000

RENO - NV Energy has awarded 56 college scholarships totaling $59,000 to graduating high school seniors throughout northern Nevada as well as college students already enrolled in northern Nevada colleges. Scholarships were given to high school seniors from Reno, Sparks, Minden, Carson City, Gardnerville, Stateline, Fallon, Incline Village, Spring Creek, Elko and Winnemucca.

Torrey Herrera and Madison Waldie, both June 2013 graduates of Lowry High School, received a Powerful Partnership Scholarship.



In addition scholarships were given to college students at the Great Basin College, Western Nevada College, and Truckee Meadows Community College. And four scholarships were awarded to students enrolled in the Renewable Energy Programs at the University of Nevada, Reno and Truckee Meadows Community College.
