This year, 2014, the Nevada Highway Patrol has investigated 15 fatal accidents in northeastern Nevada.
"Every accident is a tragedy, and someone did not make it home to their family," said Trooper Jim Stewart with the NHP.
These fatal accidents are contributed to not wearing seat belts, alcohol (drinking and driving) and distractions.
"It only takes two seconds to buckle up. Always get a designated driver if you plan on consuming alcohol. If the phone rings when you are driving, let it ring," Stewart said.
The Nevada Highway Patrol, along with other law enforcement agencies in Nevada, is currently "Joining Forces" until July 6 to get impaired/drunk drivers off the road. We want everyone to have a safe Fourth of July weekend, and zero fatalities!
Remember, one fatality is too many, so make good decisions when you drive. Your life depends on it.[[In-content Ad]]
