On Oct. 1, the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, awarded the Nevada Highway Patrol (Northeastern Nevada Region) $91,500 in federal grant funds to continue the national Campaign know as "Joining Forces."
This money will be used to conduct traffic safety enforcement events throughout northeastern Nevada including Elko, Lovelock, Winnemucca, Battle Mountain, Wells, Jackpot, Wendover, Ely, Eureka and Austin.
These nationwide campaigns focus on seatbelts, speed, distracted driving, DUIs and pedestrian safety. The Nevada Highway Patrol works closely with other law enforcement agencies on these campaigns to reduce accidents and save lives. Currently, there are 28 law enforcement agencies in Nevada that participate in these Joining Forces campaigns.[[In-content Ad]]
