LOVELOCK - Ho, Ho, Ho! It's Christmas all year round at Santa and Friends Antiques and Collectibles Variety Store on Main Street in Lovelock.

The quaint little variety store is owned and operated by Buzz and Emily Gray, both talented artists. The Grays make many of the items that are for sale in the store, the rest come on consignment from other local artists.

The Grays wanted to bring something different to Lovelock, they said. "We know many talented people. We would get together to make things for the Christmas Fair and someone suggested we open a store and sell our Christmas crafts," Emily Gray said.

Gray opened a store in the Crow's Nest mall last year. She said that the store was to be open for only three months from September to December. She and her friends sold unique Christmas decorations and one-of-a-kind gifts. The response to the seasonal shop was enough that Gray and her friend decided to open year-round. "Pretty soon we had a lot of people creating for the shop," Gray said. Gray and her friends moved the store to 230 Main St. earlier this year. Christmas is the main theme of the store, with the second floor dedicated to the holiday. On display are various Christmas scenes featuring individually decorated Christmas trees with similarly adorned surroundings. Gray and her husband make many of the Christmas decorations.

Not into Christmas? Not to worry. The store also features handmade crafts, antiques and much more. It is certainly not your average, cluttered, dusty second-hand store. The store is kept tidy and orderly and has collectibles for every taste.

Gray says that her greatest joy is seeing the expressions on her customers' faces when they find that special item.

"We have many consignors with different talent and vision, so there is something in here for just about anyone," Gray said.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is well worth a stop jus
