The Nevada Department of Wildlife recognized a long-time hunting educator Thursday in Winnemucca at the Martin Hotel during an appreciation dinner for volunteer instructors. Bob Gibson, of Lovelock, has been teaching hunter education courses for 40 years. He began volunteering to educate new hunters back in 1973. He said he believes he's the longest-serving instructor in northern Nevada.
