Muriel Lee Echeto, 71, quietly passed away at Harmony Manor after an extended illness on Aug. 4, 2013.
She was born on March 27, 1942, in Merced Calif. She was married to Isidro Belzarena Echeto for 43 years and resided in Winnemucca for the majority of her life. Muriel worked as a hairdresser for many years and also owned Sears and Roebuck Catalog Store and Fabric Ect., a local fabric store. She was a member of the Winnemucca Basque Club and St Paul's Catholic Church.
Muriel enjoyed many crafts; from ceramics, sewing, scrapbooking to porcelain dolls. She enjoyed spending time with family celebrating birthdays and holidays. She loved playing with her grandchildren at home during her last few years of her life.
Muriel is survived by her husband, Isidro, stepfather Jay Carpenter, sister, Laura Sweeney, and daughter, Tina Maestrejuan, sons; Sid (Stacey) Echeto, Jay (Casey) Echeto of Parker , Colo. and Mark Echeto of Oklahoma City, Okla. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Nicole Echeto, Dillon and Sierra Maestrejuan and Madison Echeto; nieces and nephews; Chuck (Adele) Sweeney, Merryann (Michael) League, of Reno, Nev., and Kim (Paul) Sigston of Meridian, Idaho.
Muriel was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothea Carpenter, and nephew Randy Sweeney.
A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Aug. 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon reception will be provided by St. Paul's Altar Society at the church following the Mass.
