WINNEMUCCA - The Model T Resort Casino is a true community hero, according to officials from the Humboldt Volunteer Hospice.
According to HVH Executive Director Sherry Smith, the local casino has donated $1,000 a month to the nonprofit agency for the past several months and "it has made all the difference in the world," said Smith. "We have truly been blessed through this company's generosity."
Smith said the money is used to care for terminally and chronically ill patients in Humboldt County. All hospice care is provided free of charge, and patients do not need a doctor's referral to access care.
"We would really like to thank the Model T for their donations and recognize them for the heroes they are," said Smith.
