The queen association prides itself each year in making sure that honors like this are not just given to interested girls in the community, but rather the girls need to work for their title and show they have the characteristics needed for such an important job.

Miss Winnemucca High Desert Queen serves as an ambassador of rodeo to the general public, portraying excellence in sportsmanship, high moral and ethical character, and reflects careful and humane treatment of animals. She must understand the sport of rodeo and the people that enjoy rodeo as a professional sport.
