Mina A. Down was born on Aug. 21, 1939, in Ticonderogia, N.Y. She was raised in Iron Point, N.Y., till the age of nine when her grandfather brought her out west on a train. She went to school in Winnemucca. She worked as a truck drivers, waitress, 21 dealer, and bartender in Battle Mountain.
She passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 4:30 p.m., after feeling bad for a couple of weeks. She will be gratefully missed. She is survived by husband Kelly Down, daughter Tina Jones, and grandson Kristofer Jones.
Funeral services will be held at the 4-Square Church next Wednesday the 24th at 1 p.m.
