We had to let him go, on Aug. 28, 2014, at the age of 59. He was born May 1955 in Delta, Colo., to Mary Jane and Thomas Thompson. They moved to Winnemucca when he was 2; Mike graduated from Lowry High.
He then married Marine Rusch in 1974 they had two beautiful children, Haley and Travis.
Living in Fallriver, Calif., Mike had his own business, Badger Backhoe, where he even did work for Clint Eastwood, his neighbor.
In 1989 they divorced and Mike moved back to Winnemucca where he worked for the City of Winnemucca Water Department until he retired in 2010.
In 1996 He married Clarice Warren and they both loved to camp, fish and go 4-wheeling. They would hop on the motorcycle and go back to Nebraska every summer to visit her family. Mike was one of the founding brothers that started the Wild Bunch Motorcycle Club; he wrote several poems for the club and for his mom and wife. He was a dedicated son to his mom and helped her move when she would buy a house (this happened more than once).
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas and his sister Pamela Jane. He is survived by his wife Clarice, mother Mary Jane Keith, daughter Haley (Brandon) Ledasma, son Travis (Grace) Thompson, step-sister Betty (Ken) Roeder, step-brother Jimmy Seward, step-dad Jim Seward, and step-mother Janet, her daughters Joyce Jeannie and Julie in Colorado.
Along with Clarice children Robert (Ashley) Bredthauer, Latisha (Jay) Morrow, Deric (Amy) Hartman, Jesse Moravec. Grandson Lucas Ledasma, granddaughter Jaycee Morrow and several nieces and nephews, not to mention a lot of good friends. We can't leave out the Boys Winston and Bode.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Winnemucca Inn on Oct. 18 from 1 to 5 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
