Michael Lee Murchison was born Sept. 5, 1993, in Greenville, Calif. Michael passed unexpectedly into his eternal life on Nov. 7, 2011, at the age of 18 at his home in Winnemucca.
At the age of 2, Michael was diagnosed with autism. Even though autism robbed him of his ability to speak, he made himself heard loud and clear, through the use of sign language, gestures and a special communication program on his iPad. Michael spent his early years in Greenville, at the age of 11, he moved to Winnemucca with his family. Michael was a Junior at Lowry High School where he participated in the Life Skills Program.
Michael enjoyed everything Disney, Country Music, anything Muppets, swimming, Christmas lights, and fireworks. He loved spending time at the family ranch feeding the animals and most of all spending time with his three brothers Jesse, Sam and Jeremy. Michael loved the Special Olympics and participated regularly in track and bowling and was the proud recipient of several Gold Medals.
Michael touched many lives with his quirky personality, infectious laughter, special smile and the mischievous twinkle in his brown eyes when he was doing something he shouldn't.
Michael is survived by his mother and step-father Leanna and Brad Moore, father Russell Murchison, brothers Jesse, Sam and Jeremy, grandparents Gary and Susan Neer and Lyle and Shirley Murchison, great grandparents Kenneth and Dorothy McIntyre and Margaret Neer, as well as many aunts, uncles to include Aaron and Ryan Neer along with numerous cousins.
A celebration of Michael's life will take place Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, 11:00AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Greenville with Rev. Fred Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenville District Cemetery. An opportunity to express your condolences to the family along with signing the memorial guest register is available online at www.fehrmanmortuary.com.
