On Oct. 9, 2014, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend Michael J. Hornbarger passed away. He was 56 years old and passed away in his home in Winnemucca, Nev.
Michael was born Nov. 12, 1957, to William K. Hornbarger and Ethel Hornbarger in Winnemucca. He graduated from Albert Lowry High School in 1976. He married Cheryl L. Moon on March 18, 1983. Michael and Cheryl Hornbarger were married for 31 years and together for 37 years.
Michael is survived by Cheryl Hornbarger (wife), Chris Hornbarger (son), Rhiannon Sauers (daughter), Ethel Hornbarger (mother), Bill Hornbarger (brother), Karl Hornbarger (brother), Bernie Williams (sister), Seth Hornbarger (grandson), Jordan Hornbarger (granddaughter), Roan Hornbarger (grandson), Edward Level (grandson), and Michael Level (grandson). Michael was preceded in death by William Hornbarger (father), Rosemary (sister), Barbara (sister), Leonard (brother).
He worked the majority of his life as owner & operator of Blackrock Outfitters. He was a lifelong Winnemucca resident who enjoyed spending his time in the great outdoors. He loved going hunting, fishing, camping, and trapping especially with his children and grandchildren.
