WINNEMUCCA - Andy Mendoza shot a round of 2-over par 74 to win the Jeff Herzog junior golf tournament, held last Wednesday at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course. Over 40 junior golfers took part in the tournament.
His brother Chris Mendoza was second with a 3-over par 75.
Alyssa Dendary shot an 81 to win the girls 15-to 17-year-old division, while Ning Landt was second at 100.
In the girls 13- to 14-year-old age group that played nine holes from the red tees, Elise Rose won with a 68. Kelsey Dalley and Brooklyn Backus tied for second with scores of 72.
In the boys division, Steven Bosch won with a 44 and Lorenzo Mattson was second at 57.
Dillon Patterson won the boys 11- to 12-year-old division with a nine-hole score of 42, which was played from the gold family tees. Jordan Parker and Kobe Stoker tied for second with rounds of 58.
On the girls side, Tatyana Carlson was first with a nine-hole total of 55, while Savannah Dalley placed second with a 69.
In the girl's 8- to 10-year-old group that played nine holes from the blue family tees, Lilly Landt was first with a 51. Angelina Mendoza was second at 77.
On the boys side, Tyler Piquet was the winner with a round of 52 and Cal Peters was second at 56.
