Mendoza wins Doc Verner memorial junior golf tournament

Andy Mendoza won the Doc Verner memorial junior golf tournament with an 8-over par 80 during the Wednesday event at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course. More than 30 junior golfers competed in the tournament. Hunter Dimock (90) was second.

Alyssa Dendary carded an 86 to lead the way in the girls 15- to 17-year-old division, while Tatyana Carson (46) was first in the girls 13- to 14-year-old division.

In the boys 13- to 14-year-old age group that played nine holes, Zane Fifield shot a 48 to win and Kobe Stoker was second. Dalton Irons (55) finished, and Dillon Patterson (56) and Zach Wolverton (65) were fourth and fifth, respectively. Caden Smith (65) and Will Kracaw (78) rounded out the standings.

Hunter Mullins shot a 52 for nine holes to win the boys 11- to 12-year-old group and Levi Chistopherson (60) was second. Rian DeLong carded a 65 to finish third and Gratian Dawson (67) and Dillon Lutzow (71) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Gianni Giordano won the 10 and under age group with a round of 60. Jaden Jimenez was second at 68 and Tristan Cassinelli was third at 74. Joe Ramos (76), Sammy Radtke (80) and John Boyle (81) rounded out the division.

In the girls 11- to 12-year-old division, Lily Landt was first with a score of 44 and Megan Li was second at 54. Savanna Dalley (63) was third, Tea Novi (71) was fourth and Josie Ellifirtz (85) placed fifth.

In the girls 8- to 10-year-old division, Angelina Martinez won with a 58, and Raygen Metcalf was second at 69. Hadlee Bengochea shot a 75 to finish third and Marquette Cassinelli was fourth at 80. Payton Cassinelli and Hayden Case each shot 84.[[In-content Ad]]
