MEMORY LOSS, DEMENTIA, ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE TOPIC OF FREE EDUCATION MEETING

WINNEMUCCA -Next week, local residents are invited to learn the latest information on memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

"The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease," is sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association in coordination with Humboldt General Hospital.

The educational program will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Sarah Winnemucca conference room at Humboldt General Hospital, located at 118 E. Haskell Street in Winnemucca.

According to presenters, Alzheimer's disease is not a normal part of aging. Instead, they say that if you or someone you love is affected by Alzheimer's disease or dementia, it's time to learn the facts.

The program will provide information on detection, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment and much more.

The meeting is open to all interested residents. There is no charge to attend and light refreshments will be served.

For more information on next week's educational program or to RSVP, please contact Dori Ward at the Alzheimer's Association at (800) 272-3900.
