Memorial Day ceremony attendance disappointing

Editor:

Today I had the honor of attending the Memorial Day Ceremony held on the courthouse steps in Lovelock as a member of American Legion Post 6.

It was a touching and memorable experience, with the unfurling of the very large flag on the steps of our courthouse and marching with it to the flagpole at the park adjacent to the Hwy 80 freeway along with the replacement of the American Flag and the MIA (missing in action) at Post 6 flagpole adjacent to the courthouse.

While few townspeople were in attendance, embarrassingly, and yes, somewhat painfully was the distinct absence of many of our city and county electoral body's presence.

While some may have been unavailable, or possibly out of town for the Memorial Day Week-end what a shame that those present in THEIR CITY AND COMMUNITY could not find the time to honor and remember those souls that sacrificed ALL FOR THEY AND THEIR FAMILIES.

ALL GAVE SOME - SOME GAVE ALL!!!
