Melissa Marie Bakker ended her battle from cancer on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2015. Melissa was born Feb. 16, 1966, in Merced, Calif. She married Gerrit Bakker on Nov. 10, 1984. Together they had two sons Branden and Sean. Melissa loved her family, friends, camping, riding her Harley and her grand babies. Melissa worked for the Lander County School District and was a member of XI Alpha Phi and St. John Bosco church. She is survived by her husband, Gerrit, of 30 years, sons, Branden (Desiree), Sean (Tonia); grandchildren, Gerrit, Daxon, Saige, Brenden, Carlee, Isaiah, Boden and Zohie; sisters, Stephanie Sexauer, Karen Janz, and brother, Dave Murray; and grandmother, Mary Pendleton. Melissa was greeted by her parents David Parrett, Natalie Murray, and niece Megan Sexauer. Services will be held Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 2 p.m. at St. John Bosco hall.
